MyFitnessPal App

I just started using MyFitnessPal to track my nutrition.  This year I'm back in the game of running, and I have to also watch what I'm eating.  The MyFitnessPal app is the recommended app for a fitness nutrition group I have joined called Eat To Perform (ETP).

I've always been weak with food.  I'm an emotional eater.  Food can be a destructive tool for me.  So I joined ETP and have received some personalized nutritional feedback that I'm incorporating into our lives.  For more on ETP, please check it out here.  It is really helping me figure out sports nutrition and my "macros".  Once I learn more and experience this more, I will blog more about ETP.

Using the MyFitnessPal (MFP) app I can track everything that goes into the pie hole.  Some I have to estimate on because it is something like a salad where I did not measure out what I put on it.  Others I can get exact quantity.   MFP has an incredibly large database full of food with their nutritional content.  I have not yet had to input my own food item with nutritional info I had to look up.  It is all right there at my fingertips with MFP.

I am having a problem eating all of the food per day that I am supposed to be eating.  It is a lot of food!  But, I do not feel weak.  I do not feel like I'm not getting enough.  And I do have room to eat more if I want to.  But it's not about eating what I feel like.  It's about eating what my body needs during this training.  So I'm figuring it all out, and right now, it's been easy using MyFitnessPal!!

Question: Do you use MFP?  What food/nutrition apps do you use?
